How We Use Information We Collect

Harland Clarke uses the information we collect to provide our products and services to you, improve our products and services, develop new products and services and protect ourselves and our consumers. We may also use your information to provide you order confirmation and shipment notification. Unless you ask us not to, we may also use your information to communicate with you about products, services, and promotions in the future.

Harland Clarke may provide your information to third party service providers who assist us in fulfilling your order, as well as to your financial institution for customer verification and fraud prevention purposes. All of our third party service providers are required by contract not to otherwise disclose your personal information, or use it for any purpose other than in strict accordance with our guidance and instructions. If you place an order with us, the information we collect may be used to maintain your order history, provide you with access to some features of our online environments or offer you the benefits and privileges that are provided to past customers. How Harland Clarke and Our Partners Use Cookies for Advertising

When and Why Harland Clarke Discloses Your Information

Harland Clarke may use third party companies to perform services on our behalf and at our direction (with the permission of those third party companies with which Harland Clarke does business) to help Harland Clarke communicate with consumers or provide them with products or services. In these instances, Harland Clarke has written agreements that require the parties with whom it shares information to keep it safe and confidential and to use it only for the purposes specified.

For example, we may provide your information to third party service providers that we have engaged to assist us in maintaining good consumer relations by communicating to you relevant announcements regarding exclusive sales, company information, and to conduct consumer surveys. We may also provide your information to third party service providers who assist us in fulfilling your order, as well as to financial institutions for customer verification and fraud prevention purposes. All of our third party service providers are required by contract not to otherwise disclose your personal information. If we allow a third party vendor to have access to your personally identifying information, we will not authorize them to take it or use it for any purpose that is not consistent with this privacy statement.

California Consumer Privacy Act (”CCPA“) – Consumer Rights

If you are a California resident, this section applies to Harland Clarke’s processing of information that identifies, relates to, describes, is capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer or household, as provided for in the CCPA (”California Personal Information“). Subject to applicable exceptions and/or exemptions, California residents have the following rights pursuant to the CCPA and its implementing regulations.

  • The right to request that Harland Clarke disclose (i) the categories of California Personal Information we have collected about you, (ii) the categories of sources from which we obtained your California Personal Information, (iii) the business purpose we have for collecting or selling your California Personal Information, (iv) the categories of third parties with whom we share your California Personal Information, and (v) the specific pieces of California Personal Information we have collected about you.
  • The right to request that Harland Clarke disclose the categories of California Personal Information that Harland Clarke has sold or disclosed to third parties.
  • The right to request that Harland Clarke delete the California Personal Information that we have collected about you.
  • The right to not be discriminated against for exercising any of the rights granted to such consumer under the CCPA.

Submitting a CCPA Request

If you are a California resident, you may submit one of the aforementioned consumer requests pursuant to the CCPA by calling 1-855-321-9635, or by submitting your request through our CCPA Web Portal. We will respond to your request within 45 days.

Please note that as required under applicable law, Harland Clarke will take appropriate steps to verify your identity before fulfilling your CCPA request.

Do Not Sell My California Personal Information

If you are a California resident, you have the right to opt out of our sale of your personal information, subject to the CCPA. To exercise this right to opt-out, please visit this page to submit your request.

GLBA Exemption

In accordance with Section 1798.145(e) of the CCPA and its implementing regulations, information that Harland Clarke collects, processes, sells or discloses pursuant to the GLBA (such as information obtained in connection with the placement of a check order) is exempt from the CCPA and its implementing regulations. As such, all such information is processed in accordance with the GLBA and its implementing regulations.

In accordance with Section 1798.145(l) of the CCPA, information reflecting a transaction between Harland Clarke and an individual who is acting on behalf of a business is exempt from the Section 100, 105, 110, 115, 130 and 135 consumer rights which are afforded to California residents (as outlined above).
